New Brunswick

New Brunswick’s Tobacco and Electronic Cigarette Sales Act went into force on July 1, 2015. Under the terms of the legislation:

  • E-cigarettes and e-liquids cannot be sold to people under the age of 19 and no one under the age of majority may enter a vape shop, unless accompanied by an adult;
  • Vapour products cannot be sold wherever tobacco sales are banned;
  • Vaping is banned in indoor public spaces and workplaces, in cars with children under 16, less than three metres from patios and less than nine metres from doorways and air-intake vents;
  • Visible promotions outside a retailer are not allowed, except to show availability and prices;
  • In-store promotions and point-of-sale displays are banned, except in the case of specialty vape shops;
